More needs to be done! Tennessee’s violent crime rate of 6.0 incidents per 1,000 is 62% higher than the national rate of 3.7, but the safest cities only reported 1.0 incident per 1,000 people. Regionally, Tennessee has the highest violent crime rate in the East South Central region, and the second-highest property crime rate behind Alabama. There is an estimated 250,000 hate crime incidents predicted for our country. We need like minded partners to help us work toward identifying the warning signs of hatred brewing in our area and to collaborate with legislators and local officials, law enforcement and schools to counter act it. We are committed to building a stronger and more united community where people of all backgrounds and cultures can strive together to be the best that we can be. Is our housing really fair? Are our lending practices really fair? Is our elections process as fair as it can be? Help us as we do a deeper dive into the work of being stronger together.
