Robert has lived and worked in three other countries – Kenya on the east coast of Africa, the Seychelles islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and Israel, a holy place for at least four world religions. He also lived in Hawaii for 23 years where the word “Aloha” means hello, goodbye, welcome and love. He has been a member of the Bahá’í Faith for over 50 years. When Robert retired, he and his wife Charlotte decided that they should spend the rest of their lives somewhere where they had never lived before. They moved to Maryville almost five years ago because of the Great Smoky Mountains, the beautiful rivers and lakes in this area and the Blount County Public Library, a wonderful gem in east Tennessee. He enjoys volunteering in a variety of organizations in Blount County. He joined Blount County United because of the role it plays in promoting unity, justice and an appreciation for the diversity of the human race.
